The proposals for the Warneford Hospital site include a new purpose-built mental health hospital and research and innovation centre, alongside the sensitive reuse of the Grade II-listed buildings as a University of Oxford graduate college. The masterplan creates a landscape-led environment that supports healthcare, research and education, with new buildings designed to maximise natural light and sit harmoniously within the historic setting.
Inform Design was appointed to provide early-stage design directions on sizing the fixed shading elements to meet the Peak Solar Gains target without significantly deviating from the initial Architectural intent.
Our services include:
-
Touch base with the current design with regard to Peak Solar Gains compliance.
-
Examine the impact of the fixed shading elements to meet the Peak Solar Gains target and maintain balanced performance for daylight levels and views out.
-
For certain areas of the building, identify potential overheating risk and provide early design recommendations.
