International Quarter London, a joint venture by Lendlease and London Continental Railways, is a business hub in Stratford City, E20. Featuring 371000m² of workspace, retail, a hotel, and new homes, it aims to create 25,000 jobs while prioritizing health and wellbeing.
Inform Design was involved in technical assessment of CCF systems. The main aim of the contribution was to properly model the CCF system and predict the transmitted solar radiation on an annual basis.
The scope included both accurate modelling and a validation exercise between two Dynamic Thermal modelling tools: IES VE and IDA ICE. A parallel method had to be developed and inserted into IES VE in order to match the (solar) energy transfer results of IDA ICE. Close collaboration with the M&E consultants and the contractor allowed us to successfully inform the envelope design.
